In January 2016, a group of wedding industry friends gathered for morning coffee. We talked about goals for the new year and more importantly, we reflected on our time in this business and felt incredibly grateful to be a part of this industry.  Many of us do not view our “job” as something that just provides for our families; but being a part of this industry means genuine relationships, a wonderful support system and a community that truly cares about one another. We all agreed that our industry is full of some of the most giving people we know, and we wondered if there was something we could do to give back to our beautiful state:

"Is there a way we can bring our industry together and use our expertise, to give back to the people of Hawaii?"

It was a novel idea. There was nothing like it in Hawaii. But we knew as an industry, it was time for us to give back. Over the next couple of months, “Love Gives Hawaii” was born.

Love Gives Hawaii is a community of wedding and event professionals inspired to give hope and support to the people of Hawaii. Our mission is to bring the community together through niche events like our annual gala while raising money for a great cause. Love Gives Hawaii is run 100% by volunteers in the event and wedding industry in order to maximize donations to our beneficiaries. Board members, team members, designers, performers, and event staff have donated an endless amount of hours, services, and products to make Love Gives Hawaii’s mission a reality.
