Summer Dinner + Movie Night | 8.7.16

On August 7, 2016, over 100 wedding industry family and friends gathered at Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute for a fun filled afternoon & evening for Love Gives Hawaii Summer Dinner + Movie Night. The day started off with gray clouds and pouring rain all over the island (even on the West side!) but as the day went on the sunny skies appeared and there wasn't a rain drop in sight.

Everyone enjoyed yummy treats and snacks & there were awesome activities for everyone to take advantage of including:  lawn games, photo both, hair braiding, glitter tattoos & face painting.

As everyone settled on their lawn chairs & blankets to get ready for the movie viewing,  we all enjoyed a beautiful "Lanikuhonua Sunset."  We couldn't have asked for a more picture perfect backdrop.

We all had an amazing time!  Thank you for all the support & a special thank you to all our vendors that made this event a success!

LGH Launch + Industry Mixer | 7.20.16

They came. They learned. They are now a part of Love Gives Hawaii! On July 20, 2016, curious minds of the Oahu wedding community united at the Honolulu Design Center's Cupola Theater to discover the recent buzz surrounding LGH. As we celebrated the official Launch & Mixer Party, attendees were immersed in first hand information on the who, what, why, of this new endeavor, and were encouraged to share in the mission by embracing and supporting LGH via volunteerism, charitable giving, and attendance at future fundraising events.

On hand were Mary Saunders, Executive Director of Family Promise of Hawaii and Amanda Belton, Director of Catering and Conference Services, Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina, both of whom are key partners for the January 29, 2017 inaugural LGH Gala.

It was a BLAST!!! Thank you for the generous support that made this event a success!

"Family Dinner" Part II at Chef Elmer's Island Cuisine

Our Hawaii wedding industry is so awesome. BEYOND AWESOME! We have such a special group of individuals and businesses that truly care about their work, their clients and each other. Being a part of this industry is like being a part of a giant extended family. So, whenever we get together, it's like a huge family dinner!

That's exactly what happened on June 15, at Love Gives Hawaii's second mini-fundraiser at Chef Elmer Guzman's Mililani Poke Stop location. 16 friends enjoyed a fabulous menu of Pastrami Cured Salmon Toast, Keawe Smoked Chicken Salad, Slow Braised Adobo Oxtail (it was as amazing as it sounds!!), and Blueberry Clafoutis. Yum, yum, yum!

Incorporators Nichole Shin, Sandra Williams, and Diana Caro-Salvador shared the inspiration behind the vision and mission for Love Gives Hawaii and we screened a video we created to showcase our LGH beneficiary, Family Promise of Hawaii.

Our next event is a industry mixer at Amuse Wine Bar on July 20. Keep on the lookout for more information or email troy@troymichaeldj.com for details.
